	Make sure when you first start out to choose the Maniac character. This character has the advantage of gaining energy more quickly than the other classes. Energy is essential for completing jobs, and jobs are essential for levelling up, so the Maniac should be your obvious choice. Although having the benefits of additional health and money that the other classes offer may seem desirable, you can gain these benefits in other ways. Energy will be your biggest limiting factor so do all you can to maximise your energy.
	Make sure before going into any fights you bank all your money. You can be attacked at any time so making sure you have as little as possible on you is essential if you don’t want to be robbed. You do incur a 10% fee for depositing money in the bank but its well worth it.
	Jobs are one of the most important aspects of the game. You need to do many jobs throughout the game in order to progress. Different jobs require different amounts of energy to complete. It’s therefore essential that you develop your mafia wars strategy to focus your efforts on maximising your energy. Although it may tempting to spend the experience points you earn on increasing your other stats, initially your best option is to spend at least 2-3 of your experience points when you level up on increasing your energy for maximum benefit. Increased energy allows you to take on higher jobs which in turn will earn you more experience points.
	Fight until you are injured enough to be sent to hospital and then sign out. The beauty of this is that no one can attack you when you’re offline. If you’re not in hospital when you sign out you can be attacked while offline.
	Make sure you use your energy packs effectively. You are only able to use one energy pack per day. When used, your energy will be boosted to full plus 25%, no matter how full your energy was before you used the pack. Therefore make sure that your energy is almost depleted (10 or less) before you use an energy pack, to avoid essentially wasting energy and therefore your ability to complete more jobs.
	Be aware of being hitlisted. This occurs when you attack the same player multiple times. Being hitlisted costs you experience points so can make a serious dent in your game progress if you let this happen too often.

Your main mafia wars strategy should focus on building as large and as strong a family as possible, and maximising your energy. This is the only way you will be able to attack larger and larger families, complete harder jobs, and ultimately dominate the game.
